Hi everyone! I wanted to share today one of my favorite alternatives to plastic safety eyes when making amigurumi. And bonus, they are fast and easy! These came to be when I was searching for an 'eye' to have a crisp, delicate look. I have made some with worsted black yarn but it just didn't meet the look I was going for when the eye needed to be on a smaller scale. There are many reasons we look for an alternative to plastic safety eyes. The most popular reason being the recipient of our…

The Knotty Boss - Anna Leyzina on Instagram: "Welcome to another #JustATipTuesday - For those instances when safety eyes are not an option, or you just don’t have small enough size, embroider your eyes using the French Knot method.

Although you can also use this technique for bigger amigurumi using thicker yarn, I prefer to use this with my smaller amis, when none of my pre-made eyes will work.
Let me know what your safety-eye-alternative method is, if you don’t already use this.

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Feed the thread to the front of the work, where you want your eye to be positioned
- Wrap the working thread around the needle 1-3 times (the more your wrap the bigger the knot) making sure to keep the coils tight around the needle.
- Insert the needle back through the front, as close to the ori Crochet French Knot Eyes, Sew Eyes On Amigurumi, How To Sew Eyes On Amigurumi, Embroidery Faces, Embroider Eyes, Embroidery Eyes, Eye Tricks, Crochet Eyes, Easy Crochet Projects

Emma’s Handcraft 🐻 on Instagram: "Embroider tips for making eyes on your chunky/velour amigurumi 👇🏼 I got a request of making a tutorial on embroider eyes on chenille yarn. Here’s my best tips: ✔️ Always use pins to mark where you want the eyes to be. ✔️ Always make the stitches in the same place, it makes the eye grow. Make as many stitches as you prefer until you are happy with the size. ✔️ I do 2 stitches of white on the side, otherwise it doesn’t show as much. ✔️ Make 1 white stitch over one row in the black part. ✔️ Make 1 black stitch on the side of the eye, not to far away. ✔️ Make 2 eyelashes, one row up. Was this helpful? 🤭 ❤️ I had to cut the video and speed it up to make it less than 90 seconds - I’m not this fast in real life 🤭 #emmashandcraft #crochettips #croche How To Embroider Eyelashes On Amigurumi, Velour Yarn Crochet Patterns, Embroidered Bunny Face, Amigurumi Eyelashes, Embroidered Eyes Amigurumi, Embroider Eyes On Crochet, Embroidery Eyes Amigurumi, Bunny Eyes, Embroider Eyes

I’ve been asked so many times if I have a video of how I do my eyes & it’s finally here!!

For Baby Della I like to go over one stitch for my eyes but if you want them bigger you can use this method just go up 2 stitches instead of 1.

✿ Yarn I use: “I Love This Cotton” from Hobby Lobby
✿ Bent or curved metal darning needle works best

Cotton yarn works best for me as I’ve noticed it’s more stable & not as bulky.

Don’t be afraid of messing up or experimenting what works best for you! The more you practice the better and more comfortable you’ll be.

Try out different yarn to see what works for you. Cotton or anti-pill worsted weight is fabulous to use.

If they end up not turning out how you wanted them to be, snip them off!! Wro Embroidered Eyes Amigurumi, Embroider Eyes, Della Duck, Darning Needle, Crazy Crochet, Just Keep Going, Doll Parts, Go Up, Animal Dolls
