This recipe is one of a kind, I must say. I cannot express in words how delicious this is, and you can only know if you try jt so here is the recipe 😍

First, soak 3 cups sela rice in hot water while you prepare the gravy. Also soak 1 cup raisins to remove the dirt.
In a pan, add 1 tbsp butter, and three thinly sliced oranges. Then add 1 tbsp sugar and sauté well. Add raisins and cover to cook for 10 minutes on low flame until the carrots are slightly soft.
In another pan, add 1/2 cup oil and 1 large sliced onion, 1 tbsp garlic paste. Fry until golden brown. Then add 2 black cardamoms, star anise, cloves, roasted cumin seeds, and black peppers. Mix well then add 1/4 cup water and immediately cover with the lid. Chicken Pulao is one of the most commonly eaten rice dishes in Pakistan, it is absolutely delicious. I love it! It is basically a meal in and of its self and the best part is my recipe is soooo easy to make.

My recipe is a simplified version of the original, traditionally the chicken broth is this is made separately but I make it all in one, don’t worry though, you still get the exact same taste 👅!

INGREDIENTS:

- 3 cups basmati rice (imperial cups)
- 4 ½ cups water
- ⅓ oil
- 1 kg chicken (bone in)
- 1 onion (thinly sliced)
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbsp whole garam masala (or 1 tsp garam masala powder)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds

Ingredients:

For Marination:
Chicken: 300g (bone-in preferred)
Ginger garlic paste: 2 tbsp
Red chili powder: 1 tsp
Turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
Curd (yogurt): 2 tbsp
Salt: ½ tsp

For Pulao:
Basmati rice: 1 glass full (soaked for 30 minutes)
Ghee: 2 tbsp
Oil: 2 tbsp
Bay leaf: 1
Cloves: 4
Cardamom: 3
Cinnamon: 1 small stick
Green chilies: 4-5 (slit)
Onion: 1 large (thinly sliced)
Tomato: 1/3 large (chopped)
Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Mint leaves: ¼ cup
Coriander leaves: ¼ cup
Garam masala: 1 tsp
Water: 3/4 glass of water
