Dana Schutz - Boy. 2004, 42x54" Dana Schutz is a contemporary painter who deals with ideas about creation and genesis... civilization and human behavior... making/creating and destruction. In this painting, it's unclear whether the boy's head is being placed or removed. The woman's head is bisected from the composition, so there is just one head in the painting, but the one head still manages to complete both figures.
