Stacking a ring next to pave that’s directly facing it will cause issues for both rings: the stones will scratch the wedding band and the band will wear down the prongs holding onto the stones. This is why we intentionally design our rings with a one sided pave bridge—you can stack the plain side against your wedding band without issue.

I also often get requests for smaller prongs or petite prongs. Prongs are literally the only thing holding onto your stone and so when your prongs are built too flimsily you’ll quickly run into serious issues, like constantly needing repair or losing your stone.

Even if you have the most secure and thick band in the world, if your prongs are too thin, you’ll still have durability issues.
