Also known as husk tomatoes -tomatillos are native to Mexico and Central America. They are a vigorous warm season crop that is used in various dishes!  Most commonly known for the delicious salsa verde that can be made with these little gems! They have a tangy and bright flavor and come in yellow, purple and green colors. 

I have Pancho & milpero varieties growing in my @vego_garden 🌱17" tall 9-1 modular metal raised garden bed kit  and I've just let them spill over the edges! 

Although tomatillos are in the nightshade family like tomatoes they are not self-pollinating which means they need another plant to cross pollinate with for fruit production.
