Several software's based encryption and watermarking techniques exist and are used currently in the market. However, hardware implementations are not commonly used due to their complexity and cost. The design used in this paper implements both watermarking and encryption techniques on A Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Altera hardware and Quartus II software, which has been proven to be reliable and robust. The development of this system utilized MATLAB and SIMULINK for the simulation environment and ALTERA DSP Builder integrated with Simulink Embedded coder for the Auto-Code generation.
In this paper, I reviewed comprehensively the structure and operation of closed-loop IFOGs, Feedb... more In this paper, I reviewed comprehensively the structure and operation of closed-loop IFOGs, Feedback Erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EFDA) FOGs, called FE-FOG. The procedure of finding the Sagnac shift for closed-loop IFOG has been studied. The signal processing in the closed-loop IFOG was simulated using PSCAD software. In the closed-loop IFOG, the phase shift was derived through frequent use of Sagnac loop. The output signal is injected in the input again as feedback. The shift phase between clockwise and counterclockwise waves in each complete route, including primary and feedback route, is identified as Sagnac shift phase. According to Sagnac shift phase we could determine angular rotation rate.
—This paper presents improved Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system based on Single P... more —This paper presents improved Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system based on Single Pass Connected Component Labeling (CCL). This research describes an ALPR system which is capable of distinguishing license plates under various conditions, such as distance from the camera, rotation angle between camera and vehicle (0° to +/-45°) and also poor illumination contrast condition (different weather condition, different lighting condition and physical tilted or damage of license plate). In our method, we apply adaptive thresholding filter to preprocessing step for image enhancement under various conditions, and then to find the location and characters of license plate at the same time we apply improved single pass Connected Component Labeling and reign property function that compared with other methods is fast and accurate. We determine the license plate characters and location according to appropriate size, aspect ratio, distance and connectivity of characters. Finally by using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) we find the characters on each license plate in an image. Image results show the accuracy and reliability of this method. This paper presents improved Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system based on Smart Lic... more This paper presents improved Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system based on Smart License Plate Character Detection algorithm, this system is capable of distinguishing license plates under various conditions, such as distance from the camera, rotation angle between camera and vehicle and poor illumination condition (different weather condition, different lighting condition and physical tilted or damage of license plate). In our method, improved ALPR system has three main steps: 1) Image Enhancement, 2) Character Segmentation (Smart License Plate Character Detection), 3) Character Recognition. While in regular ALPR system there are four main steps: 1) Image Enhancement, 2) License Plate Location Extraction 3) Character Segmentation, 4) Character Recognition. In image enhancement introduce Multi-Scale Adaptive NICK thresholding method [1] to achieve all objects as character candidates in the binary image; otherwise we might lose license plate characters in an input image due to complex backgrounds. Single Pass Connected Component Labelling (CCL), put the label on detected objects then new design algorithm called " Smart License Plate Character Detection " finds the license plate characters regardless of location, shape and background color of license plate. So we eliminate the license plate location extraction as complex and time consuming individual stage [16]. All the steps simulated in Matlab 2014A software and results show the accuracy and reliability of this proposed method.
This paper presents improved thresholding method called " Multi-Scale Adaptive NICK thresholding ... more This paper presents improved thresholding method called " Multi-Scale Adaptive NICK thresholding method " for Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) System. By applying Connected Components Labelling (CCL) algorithm on the Binary image, license plate characters candidates will be determined. Improved thresholding method is vital to approach all the license plate characters on the binary image otherwise we might lose license plate characters under various illumination conditions and different weather conditions like rain, snow and fog. Most advantages of this method in compare with Niblack and Savola thresholding method is that it could be adapted for both types of degradation: interfering degradation and intensity degradation depends based on scale or window size, therefore you can improve all types of degradation. The interfering degradation will be restored on high scales size to cover sufficient data from the original input image. In compare, intensity degradation needs very small scales to deal with disjoint and broken characters in the license plate. In this method we don " t miss any object in the binary image as license plate character " s candidate.
