It's a funny title, but it's the most proper (for me) to speak about what's surrounding HYBE (also, I'm only speaking from the groups I stan, ENHYPEN, BTS, and Tomorrow By Together, but this goes for all the artists of this company from the 3rd generation to the 5th generation).
As a BTS fan since 2015, when it was just BigHit Entertainment, I was genuinely proud of how the company rose from a small label to a powerhouse, all thanks to BTS and their journey. And let me tell you—it was wild! But over time, my pride turned into disappointment, and I stopped supporting HYBE altogether (only the groups). This latest controversy confirms the doubts I’ve had for years.
it's so crazy that korea's biggest entertainment company really thought they could hide their mistreatment forever.
only viewing these young, aspiring idols as cash cows and treating them with disrespect in spaces they should feel safe AWAY from public opinion is just insane.
bang sihyuk, you are genuinely one of the worst. it doesn't matter if you're not the ceo of the company anymore. you are probably one of the larger shareholders and are a producer yourself. you understand the music process and the toll the public has on idols. after working SO closely to bts for all these years, to turn around and allow the same mistreatment that affected the people you claim to be close to happen to idols that were inspired by those very people... i hate you.
i understand that business is business. even if you removed all emotions and really did think of the idols as robots, you can't be fucking serious. you can't beat a race horse and put it through terrible conditions and think it'll perform the same or even better. longevity should be the goal. running these idols into the ground as a get-rich-quick scheme is so fucking stupid.
looking at the western music industry that kpop loves to thrive to be like (in terms of popularity), chappell roan took TEN YEARS to get to this point in her career. she's so beloved now. hybe, you are LUCKY that all your groups have experienced love as soon as they debuted. and this is only due to THEIR dedication and talent. not by your ugly ass marketing. if you want them to grow into even more popularity, you stick by them and nurture them with LOVE and CARE.
also, all your execs are so UGGO. no way y'all woke up one day and decided to call SUNGHOON of all people ugly and fat. and NO WAY you're neglecting sunoo who has been beyond popular since i-land. he's so precious, so gorgeous, so talented, and so kind. bsffr. to stunt the growth of your idols while simultaneously expecting them to bring in huge amounts of revenue is CRAZY.
don't even get me started on myung jaehyun. PROTECT HIM FROM THOSE JOBLESS UGGOS. he's so sweet and he genuinely loves his members, his music, and his fans. his looks and talent may be what create fans intially, but his personality on screen is what get people to love boynextdoor so so so much (as well as the other members ofc). i can't even blame zico. bureaucracy is so terrible in kpop and he knows it firsthand. he's been burned by it. obviously, we don't know how much say he has. but, considering how he stuck with them throughout pre-debut and was present for their biggest achievements, i don't think he'd EVER idly sit by and watch the boys he chose to debut go through the shit he did.
every single one of these idols went through the industry's harshest and most difficult training processes. they didn't know if they'd get to debut. they didn't know if they'd receive love. now, after debut, it's their company that's their biggest opp.
if i had that balding uggo's (jeff bezos) money, i'd buy out hybe and start rebuilding this damn industry myself.

heeseung’s always been the cool, nonchalant type—someone who can laugh off pretty much anything with that easygoing smirk of his. so, when one of your guy friends throws a casual arm around your shoulders during a group hangout, you expect heeseung to ignore it or joke in to the gossip, at least that's what he should do since you're not his real girlfriend. instead, he goes silent, his dark eyes narrowing ever so slightly as he watches the interaction with a clenched jaw.
the shift is subtle, but you know him too well. he doesn’t move from where he’s leaning against the wall, but the way his gaze follows your every move is unnerving.
“you good?” you ask, stepping closer after the gathering got over, and tugging lightly on his sleeve. his eyes snap to yours, and for a second, something almost dangerous flickers behind them before he masks it with a tight-lipped smile.
“yeah, i'm good.” his voice is flat, the usual playful tone gone. “didn't know you two were that close.”
you arch an eyebrow, tilting your head. “what, jealous?” you tease, hoping to break the tension, cracking him a smile.
heeseung lets out a humourless chuckle, his gaze sliding back to where your friend was standing. “of him? please.” the words are dismissive, but there’s a sharp edge underneath. heeseung finally pushes off the wall and closes the distance between you, his tall frame towering over yours as he dips his head down, his hand slowly caressing your upper hand. “but just so you know,” he murmurs lowly, voice dropping to a dangerous whisper that only you can hear, “i’m your boyfriend, even if it’s fake. he doesn’t get to touch you like that.”
before you can respond, he pulls you into his chest, wrapping a possessive arm around your waist. the way he holds you is different—no teasing, no joking, just a raw, simmering intensity that makes your heart race.
