I see this at a farm nearby where I like to hang with the goats, but the only time I’ve seen it captured on film was in that recent episode of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia where Sweet Dee got trampled in the petting zoo. I guess it is deeply disturbing and kind of underutilized in horror, but I still wish my eyes did that.
Like, seriously, why isn’t this in more movies? Why did I have to make the .gif myself?
In all fairness, human eyes do this too…it’s just harder to tell because we have round pupils instead of horizontal pupils.
Two animals people need to shut the fuck up about and be normal are pandas and dolphins

No. Pandas are animals that evolved to fit a particular biome. The fact that they don’t reproduce well in captivity isn’t a mark against them, it’s a mark against captivity. They, like almost any animal, are threatened by fragmented habitat and are luckily cute enough to get the funding necessary to conserve them. If not for similar conservation efforts all kinds of animals of varying degrees of cuteness would be dead as well. Nobody is calling for the abandonment of the black footed ferret project because ferrets are cute and somehow that makes them less-than in the eyes of slack jawed edgy douchebro comedians.
Dolphins are mammals and enjoy things that mammals commonly enjoy, such as intoxicants, and if you’re going to pretend to be shocked and disgusted by a dolphin getting high you’ll also have to throw away reindeer and every other animal that enjoys fermented juices including fruit flies. Dolphins are perceived by humans as being more intelligent and therefore more culpable to “sins” than other animals but humans can’t even agree on what’s immoral let alone expecting a non human animal to magically ascribe to our same biases for no reason and assign the animal negative traits when it fails to meet that asinine expectation.
The sooner you stop trying to shoehorn in some fake idea of an animal being more or less deserving of its existence the easier it will be to get through to people.
Which I should just go ahead and say right now, the OP was inspired by an article about a woman who was injured in a dolphin petting pen on vacation and the comments were full of people blaming THE DOLPHIN because “theyre nasty violent rapists” and not the humans, who captured it, forced it into a pen, and climbed and petted all over it knowing full well it was a large wild predator that had no business being swarmed by untrained fucking idiots.
It may have been haha funny shocking animal fact at first but now it’s ruined because too many people started buying that shit for real and now we have people who no longer want to preserve the sea otter because it doesn’t know what consent is.
“Normal” test results are not the relief people think they are. When you wake up in pain and continue to be in pain for hours every day and your tests come back normal you don’t stop being in pain.
when *routine* tests come back normal: a good sign! your body continues to function as it should!
when *diagnostic* tests come back normal: bad! this means you’re gonna have to do even more tests in hopes of finding out whatever the fuck is clearly going wrong in your body

Hero of Ferelden: Her name is Aisling Surana, she/her, she was made tranquil at a young age becasue she was a danger to everyone with her magic, so first tranquil warden and she somehow saves the day. Pretty much using her as a reason to try and play the game differently becasue she would try and choose what she would believe is the most logical choice what would make me try and do things differently what I feel like will be fun.
Champion of Kirkwall: Of course is Marian Hawke, she/they, I’m going for someone who makes me not just do purple Hawke the whole time, so act one is purple Hawke, act two she kind mallows out so it’s blue Hawke now, act three they are done with everything and so red Hawke! Losing their whole family really fucked them up and now she thinks she’s cursed and that everyone dies around them.
Inquisitor: Name is Lior, they/them, just a orphan or ended up getting close to the Divine. The anchor gave them magic and made thier eyes look more like looking into the fade. Kid is suffering and is only eight years old and is know being put in a place of power and it’s scary and gonna fuck them up for life. Bonus: Lior tired of everything in Veilguard, but even than still cares about trying to save the world because it’s all they know now.
Rook: And my sunshine dwarf, Eralen Aldwir! he/him, he was raised by elves and is happy to help out in the Veil Jumpers, even if he does long to meet other dwarves and connect with people like himself. He totally has stone sense. He’s just a happy guy and super sweet and is happy to help. He’s the most normal protagonists out of all of these characters.
i feel like nintendo is having a playstation 3 moment
wherein sony initially made the ps3 fuckoff expensive and told the people who couldnt afford it to get a second job because they had these massive egos after making the ps2 which is the best selling console in history and thought everyone would just buy it because it was the ps3, and the switch was *super* successful (though not quite as successful as the ps2) after the failure that was the wii u so i think theyre having a similar ego trip
this is either going to be a very humbling moment for nintendo or everyone is going to enable them because the culture of the gaming industry when the ps3 released and the culture right now are very different and i imagine there wont be a lot of pushback. at least, not in the way the ps3 had a lot of pushback
