José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal (born April 2, 1975) is a Chilean-American actor. His career began to gain traction after portraying Oberyn Martell on HBO's Game of Thrones and Javier Peña on Netflix's Narcos. Pascal now stars as the title character on Disney's The Mandalorian. He's also appeared in films such as Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Triple Frontier (2019), and Wonder Woman 1984.

The Last of Us and The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal leads IMDb’s list of the Top 10 Stars of 2023, the website announced today. Also making the cut are such talent across TV and film as Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Margot Robbie, Jenna Ortega and Carla Gugino. The Top 10 list is bookended by Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy. The year-end lists are determined using data from IMDbPro MOVIEmeter and STARmeter rankings, which are based on the page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb.
Throughout the year, Pascal spent four weeks in the No. 1 spot on the STARmeter chart and an additional nine weeks elsewhere in the Top 10, IMDb said. His upcoming projects include Gladiator 2 and Drive-Away Dolls. Pascal’s co-stars Bella Ramsey (No. 5, for their role as Ellie in The Last of Us) and Katee Sackhoff (No. 8, for her portrayal of Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian) are also IMDb Top Stars of 2023.
Pedro Pascal’s short western has received its UK digital release date.
The Last of Us’ Pascal stars opposite Ethan Hawke (Moon Knight) in Pedro Almodóvar’s short film Strange Way of Life. It will be available to watch in the UK on MUBI from October 20.
The 31-minute western follows Pascal and Hawke as two gunslingers who reunite after 25 years apart. The film has received good reviews and has been likened to BrokebackMountain.
