hello and welcome!

CHECK OUT THE PEEPS

hi. this is my sideblog dedicated to my pets and other animal interests. if it’s your first time, have a quick read-through of the tags and warnings. check back for updates to the pinned!

>> i tag “animal death tw”, “animal injury tw” and “animal abuse tw” when needed. my tarantulas are tagged “tarantula”. other spiders are tagged “spider

>> terfs + general bigotry and vileness not tolerated. fix your hearts or die.

you can call me jay or penna. i spend an abnormal quantity of time worrying about parrots, but my deepest passion is chickens. besides birds, i love spiders and many other crawly critters. only positivity please; if you only want to see birds, refer to the tags above for blocking. have fun!

the critters:

  • winston (cockatiel, hatched 2011, ~12 years old, adopted 7/13/2023)
  • the chickens (currently 7 adults and 28 babbies; see under the cut for clickables to individuals)
  • tarantulas (5 currently; again, see under the cut for individuals)
  • other spiders (wolfies)

~ allen † (budgie, 8/30/2011 - 10/24/2023, 12 years old)

~ melvin † (cockatiel, 1996 - 10/11/2022, around 26 years old; spent the last 4 years of his life with me)

other tags: info (general informative posts), bird art (not mine), maintenance (my animal home improvement efforts), training (teaching tricks and cooperation), pennapost (other random stuff/text posts), the cats (actually my family’s but i photograph them at times. there are 4)

thanks for stopping by and feel free to ask about my animals! I can share my experiences but am not an authority in anything.
