Stephanie Ridgway on Instagram: "Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is inflammation or irritation of the extensor tendons of the wrist at their attachment to the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. Tennis elbow can be caused by tennis, but it’s more commonly caused by other repetitive movements like typing, writing, painting, cooking, and constantly picking things up. It causes pain in the outer part of the elbow and can prevent your from doing a lot of your daily activities. The goal of treatment is to reduce inflammation and build strength in the muscles surrounding the elbow. These are a few of the exercises I use to treat patients with tennis elbow. Yoga with Ekata on Instagram: "Got Tennis Elbow? Let’s Fix It! Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a pesky irritation or inflammation of the wrist extensor muscles where they attach to the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. This overuse injury isn’t just for tennis players—it often strikes anyone who engages in repetitive activities like typing, mouse-clicking, and more. To tackle tennis elbow, it’s crucial to dial down those repetitive movements, boost wrist and forearm mobility, and fortify the muscles in your wrist, forearm, elbow, and even your shoulders. Start with simple exercises to strengthen your hand, wrist, and forearm, and gradually level up as you gain strength. #TennisElbow #ElbowPainRelief #StrengthenYourBody #HealthyLiving #PainFreeLiving" Elbow Pain Relief, Elbow Pain, Tennis Elbow, Hand Therapy, Simple Exercises, Hand Wrist, Pain Free, Occupational Therapy, Tennis Players

Pressure is placed on the ball through the web. With the elbow locked you can get some really good resistance throughout the upper extremity all the way up to the shoulder. ✨Placing the powerweb over the container like this makes it easier to engage the entire upper extremity in this exercise, and doesn’t require a strong second hand to hold it in place! 2️⃣Place the medicine ball onto the putty. Push the ball down into the putty as much as you can until you hit the table. Dr. Stephanie Ridgway • Physical Therapist on Instagram: "Tennis elbow is an inflammation or irritation of the wrist extensor tendons that attach to the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. It can be caused by playing tennis, but is usually caused by other repetitive movements like typing at a computer, using a mouse, painting, etc Strengthening the wrist, elbow, and shoulder muscles helps to decrease stress on these tendons. I like this exercise because it works on pronation and supination. It’s tough to use a heavy weight and it requires a lot of control to perform. Try doing 2-3 sets of 8 reps! Try it and let me know what you think! #elbowpainrelief #tenniselbowtreatment #lateralepicondylitis #elbowpain #golferselbow" Occupational Therapy Activities Adults, Pronation Exercises, Thumb Pain Relief, Elbow Pain Relief, Golfers Elbow, Isometric Exercises, Elbow Pain, Occupational Therapy Activities, Hand Exercises
