Fabulous costume worn very briefly by Helen Mirren in the TV mini-series 'Elizabeth I'. Silver brocade gown decorated with pearls and 'diamonds'. Worn over a cartwheel farthingale. Very pretty jewel and pearl headpiece with a single white feather. Elaborate wired sweetheart collar/ruff of plain lace has sewn-on emblems and is edged with picot lace. The back view shows its construction, with a circular 'plate' support hidden in the oversewn fabric.
