My Heartstring: *Now Available* Feniscowles Hall 1824 Heartstring Samplery, Wedding Sampler, Heart Strings, Colour Photograph, Counted Cross Stitch Patterns, Cross Stitch Designs, Counted Cross Stitch, Cross Stitch Pattern, Le Point

I struggled a bit with what to title this sampler, knowing that the name of the Hall would be a challenge to many. But the location is real, and the lovestory it commemorates is dear to my heart, so I opted to leave it as is. Although this sampler is an original design and (sadly) not a reproduction of a family heirloom, the names, location, date, and quote are real. In 1824, an unlikely engagement took place between the eldest daughter of wealthy mill owners and the local vicar. Not only…

My Heartstring: *NEW* Never Let You Go Heartstring Samplery, Cross Stitch Sampler Patterns, Antique Samplers, Let You Go, Bird Motif, Cross Stitch Samplers, March 2024, Needle Arts, Stitching Art

This sampler spent a very long time in the designing phase. It is a combination of several different motifs charted, then saved for later. Arranged together first one way, then another, until… there! I deemed it ‘just right’. The verse that hovers in between the angels is from I John 4:18 in the King James Version of the Bible, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” The phrase in the next section…

Once the snow melted, our month was everything that it should be. I love that empty fresh space that January occupies. It might just be in my head, but once I make it through the cluttered and busy holiday season and there are a few months yet before Spring gardening needs to happen, I feel light and free. I love the months when I can pause a little and regather myself. Of course, now those empty months aren't so empty as they used to be, because I spend them preparing for the Spring Market…

My gift to you, in honor of my very favorite holiday. Follow this link to a downloadable PDF file. This simple little design was stitched on 40 count Patriot’s Brew by R & R Reproductions, using the threads mentioned on the chart, with the addition of some Bird Nest rick rack from Lady Dot Creates. The candle holder that it rests in was found at Hobby Lobby (Wood Pedestal Candle Holder– Small, part #1453513). I designed it specifically to fit this candle holder, which has an opening that…

In honor of Earth Day, I've created a little free cross stitch chart for you, with a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The earth laughs in flowers". The chart calls for DMC, but please substitute your favorite threads if you so desire, choose your favorite count of linen to work it onto, finish it as a pin cushion or needle book, whatever your heart desires... and be sure to send me a photo when you’re done! I’d love to share it on my finish blog. As always, I would be very grateful if you gave…

The Gobbler - Heartstring Samplery - September 2017 Heartstring Samplery, Fall Cross Stitch, Picnic Quilt, Heart Strings, Cross Stitch Fabric, Wool Applique, Cross Stitch Kits, Counted Cross Stitch Patterns, New Releases

The image came to me in a flash: a heroic wild turkey astride a fearsome stallion, soaring across the night sky. I had to stitch it. But why? I didn’t know, but the image proved to be irresistible. As I pondered this, I began to wonder if there was a story to be told. A story of magic and courage beyond the usual bonds of nature; in which wild turkeys found the world over, have a hero to remember and revere. Pumpkins have The Great Pumpkin, rabbits have the Easter Bunny, small humans have…
