The last time you saw these bowls they’d only been fired once. Here though, they’ve been fired twice, the metals now molten and dripping down the walls of the pot. The red is bronze. Filings mixed into the stoneware, thrown and trimmed and fired, with lots of precautions as I didn’t want the metal, which has a relatively low melting point, to ruin my kiln shelves. To protect them I base a series of small trays to fire these in. Where the bronze breaks the surface, it forms these small crystal... I made a few puzzle jugs today. I haven't made any of these for ages. The sunshine, with some help from the gas burner meant that I was able to throw, construct and decorate them all within one day so that they'll make the firing on Saturday.
