Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Buncombe, Illinois. Both my Great-Grandparents and my Grandmother (all of whom died long before I was born) were members here. It was such a blessing to me to be able to worship in this church back in 1983 or 1984 when I was in Illinois for a family reunion.

Schulenberg Baptist Church in Schulenberg, Texas. Organized about 1871 as High Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The lumber for the first building was hauled by oxen to the original site. In 1873, a few months before the railroad came through (leading to the founding of Schulenberg), the structure was moved overland on rolling log to its present site.
