The “IDF Soldier Tour” was basically just one guy who dropped $5k on this to own the libs to an audience of 6 students. His name is Guy Finkelstein and he is a Florida Atlantic student who took a break from his computer science degree to volunteer for the IDF for a year.
I believe he is trying to use the publicity from this to become a touring conservative campus speaker like Charlie Kirk (if it wasn’t obvious from naming the event “Triggered”). Quite literally a paid provocatuer with ties to the usual christian zionists at TPUSA, Moms for Liberty, and YAF. “Student Supporting Israel”, which did not exist on campus prior to this semester, is I assume funded by one of those orgs as a shell to try to host their speakers for free (common tactic). The fact that the university charged them $5k to host the event and they actually paid it proves this. As far as I can tell, this has been the only stop on his “national tour.”
This shit is not reaching anybody, because conservative students are not politically active unless they’re careerists and weirdos. This is a vanity project. Being in control of literally everything in this country isn’t enough for them. These particular kinds of conservatives are petulant, insecure children, so it’s not enough for them to hold power over you - you also have to Like them or else they’ll try to deport you, expel you, and doxx you.

However. steamVR was the problem. so I can’t actually see anyone’s messages in VR since steamvr is what does the chat overlay. to work around this i will be installing an addon that reads chat out loud as text to speech. which will probably end very badly for me
