A new exciting project from @elwis, the creator of Tapacron, which, by the way, is celebrating its first anniversary (check out what has been drawn over the year: https://tapacron.com).
Maetheria is a multicolored substance made of pixels, created by daemons using fire, or pyros. As one of these daemons, your mission is to build the universe alongside other artists.
Every two weeks, a new challenge will begin, inspired by the epochs of history:
The Birth of the Universe
The Origin of Life and Dinosaurs
The Stone Age
The Bronze Age
The Middle Ages
…and so on, journeying through history to modern times and beyond into the future.
The best creators will earn pyros and ascend the daemon hierarchy.
Other Rules:
Interconnected Growth. You can only add pixels next to existing ones, so the entire Maetheria is interconnected and grows outward from a single starting point.
Pixel Freezing. Pixels freeze over time. Once frozen, they can’t be changed (only King Kleitos has the power to alter them).
Central Symmetry. At the start, the canvas will feature central symmetry, encouraging mandala-like designs.
Quality is more important than quantity. The goal is to create something beautiful, so there’s no need to rush. It’s better to have fewer artists, as long as they create something amazing. Images unrelated to the challenge theme will be removed by the Black Patrol.
Non-commercial Essence. Creating a universe for the sake of art is the sacred duty of daemons. The project will have no monetization or ads.
Come on in, draw, and invite your friends: https://maetheria.com/
This week we will remember David Lynch.
Draw a film frame of your favorite (or chosen by other criteria) scene from the entire David Lynch body of work. You have to add an owl into it. It doesn't have to be a real alive owl. It can be a cartoon on a tv screen, a portrait of an anthropomorphic owl, a trophy on a wall, or a wooden prop on a desk.
You have to use the template made by Mirre:
Canvas size: Exactly 240x240.
Colours: Max 24.
Transparency: None.
Animation: None.
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.

It have to be simple so the colour limit will be set to 10, but you can choose whatever colours you need for your chosen character, or use any palette.

Have you ever wondered where news icons come from? Whenever a news post (other than these standard weekly challenge posts) gets posted, it's given an icon pulled from the works in the pixeljoint gallery. You can even click the icon to see the artists gallery!
The only requirement is that the piece is exactly 50x50 pixels big. Since it's an unusal size, there are only so many works to pull from, so here is your chance to have your work featured on a future newspost!
Your challenge is to create an icon that can be used for future news posts. Choose one of the following themes:
It is up to you to interpret the theme however you wish. Just remember to give your entry a relevant title so the mods can find it when searching for icons!
Canvas size: Exactly 50x50.
Colours: Max 32.
Transparency: Encoraged, but optional.
Animation: Optional.
With a record number of 72 total gifts, it took us a while, but they are finally all collected on the Forum. It's been an amazing turnout not just in terms of quantity, but also quality, so if you've haven't already caught all of them in the gallery take some time to browse the fruits of December's labour:
