Island Measurements: 108” x 54”
These dimensions allow for a seamless countertop installation, which is crucial since the sink is located on the island. A seam is the joint where two pieces of stone meet. By avoiding seams, you reduce the risk of cracking near the sink and prevent grout discoloration or yellowing over time.

Both the countertop and backsplash are Carmen Quartzite from @symphonybyaureastone . This durable and elegant natural stone is also a sustainable choice, as it contains less silica, making it a greener option for your home.

🎨 Butter cream is the primary color of the home’s main floor. To ground and contrast the kitchen island against this light warmth, a moody baltic blue was used, although on the reel it pops more green.

🪨 A massive slab was required to cover the large island, but having it custom quarried would’ve halted progress. Instead, we chose to embrace the use of multiple slabs of different sizes, breaking all the rules most countertop specialists play by as a result of the crosshatched seams visible in the compiled/completed “master” slab. The effect is stunning and speaks of traditional farmhouse construction where shortages of materials often lead to elements of miss-matched compilation.
