Updated versions of the late classic (c.600-900) Maya clothing studies.

Mayes C.Rubeo designed these amazing costumes. She tried to get as close to the Mayan culture as possible. But in film/theatre design it's not about trying to copy, it's about using the historical fashion and creating something new, which transports the story you want to tell. In this case the story about the decadence of a moribund culture.

Ixchel is depicted in traditional Mesoamerican attire, with flowing robes adorned with symbols and glyphs. A decorative, feathered headpiece rests on her head. There are subtle elements in her attire hinting at her covert affiliation with the order. Her eyes are sharp and glowing green with the knowledge, giving her a glimpse of how Nawi perceives the world and reality around them understanding things at a deeper level for a time and understanding the responsibility of having such knowledge.
