Winding ways quilt

This was on my bucket list of quilts to make. Many years ago my friend, Ramona, taught a Winding Ways class at Fabrics Etc. in Webster Texas. I didn't take the class but I always admired the sample quilt hanging in the shop. In this video I show you how to cut the pieces with the AccuQuilt and then piece the blocks. At last, Winding Ways is a completed commission! My sister Kathy helped me make my deadline by burying threads (there was cursing) while I sewed on the label. I was still stitching it when my client friend Sarah arrived for pickup. She was very pleased with the quilt and looking forward to sending it off to her sister and brother in law in Arizona--a gift for their 50th wedding anniversary. Hi friends! Today I want to share a quilt I finished earlier this year called Winding Ways. I started this quilt in July of 2023. Around that time, I had mentioned to some friends that I wanted to get better at curved piecing. One of them happened to have an Accuquilt Die Cut machine + dies for the Winding Ways pattern. The Winding Ways pattern in a second colorway: one medium/large-scale print, one solid (black). Print setting by random distribution. Pieced outer border colors taken from the focus print fabric. The print fabric was a length of cut yardage at the local clothing shop, that I split with an older neighbor.
