So the two blades are named after Ueda's ability.

雨月物語　Ugetsu monogatari, Tales of rain (雨) and moon (月)

But also one of them manipulates space time and the other, the one for the moon, manipulates life force.

The moon is related to Atsushi's ability beast under the moon. His ability is regeneration.

And the rain is related to Akutagawa's ability! Have you read Rashoumon? Rain and cloth.

Ahahhhhahahahaha

I have thoughts about that last line of Akutagawa's about luxury. And like. Please if someone with a better knowledge of Japanese has something to add, please do.

So Dazai goes: 芥川くん頑張ったね

"Akutagawa-kun, you did well". 頑張る is such a versatile word. The easiest meaning is perseverance and persistence. So like, "good job making it this far". But I feel that Dazai's words have a more broad meaning there.

And then we have Akutagawa going:

...嗚呼 (basically an interjection, "Ah/Oh")
何と美しき音楽 (What beautiful music)
許されるのか (can it be allowed)
このような贅沢が (this luxury?)

The music phrase I feel refers to Dazai's praise. Akutagawa wanted his praise and acknowledgement for so long, and hearing it is beautiful, of course.

Then the next two. This seems like a single sentence to me. Please note that there is literally no pronoun anywhere, it's open to interpretation, this happens a lot of Japanese sentences. That's why I feel more confident translating Japanese into Russian first to get the feel of the sentence flow, because in Russian you can also omit pronouns and subjects and whatnot.

So. That sentence reads to me as Akutagawa asking himself if he can be allowed to having/enjoying the luxury of Dazai's praise. Asking himself if he truly earned it.

Not acceptance, but a drive to continue clawing at the enemy to survive.

I'm really curious to see what the next chapters will bring, in light of that.

Also, Akutagawa and Atsushi have to meet again. They're the core of this manga. It can't just be the end for them, it's too abrupt that way.

Tbh I don't like the whole "Oh but Dazai gave Akutagawa the life meaning he asked for by showing him Atsushi" Because

One: I think that they were fated to meet in every universe idependent of Dazai's interference since they are literally, in every meaning of phrase, the ying and the yang

and Two: Dazai being the bridge to them meeting is exactly the reason why they couldn't just be friends

Both in Beast and in the main universe, when Atsushi and Akutagawa meet each other, both are always mesmerized by each other and interested in futher knowing each other until Akutagawa discovers that Atsushi related to Dazai. He's not bridge between them at all, he's more of the construction site between them delaying their arrival, if that even makes sense.

So it really makes me angry that people try to justify Dazai's actions with that excuse when there was literally no way of knowing about Atsushi when he left the mafia unless he's a literal prophet

Yosano comments back in chapter 7 that Atsushi’s healing ability is less regeneration and more a complete reversal. Tsuki-no-Gozen could manipulate life force.

My conclusion: Atsushi contains at least one of the shattered pieces of this sword within him, or the tiger is some kind of living transmutation of the abilities the original sword was imbued with, in this essay, I will
