not only testosterone gel has been recalled - if you click on the link above, you’ll see that there are a lot of other medications affected, ranging from ibuprofen to thyroid medication to psych meds and a whole bunch in between. i’d say usamericans who use ANY medication should check this list just to be safe
edit since i’ve already got an anon on my ass about it: ididn’t say throw away meds indiscriminately. check the list yourself for the date these recalls were made, exact lot numbers, etc. and to be even more clear, while dozens of currently circulating meds have been affected by recent recalls, the “past recalls still in effect” section applies only to meds that would be expired by now - just thought that info would still be important for people who, like op said, might be eligible for compensation. t gel is the only one that’s been recalled due to benzene contamination specifically but i wanted to bring attention to the other current recalls too as they affect a lot of people.

cannot recommend LGBT Youth Scotland enough, they are sound as hell and seriously leading the way on a lot of trans support in the 3rd sector
also, sticking with Scottish orgs, LGBT Health & Wellbeing have trans-specific support for people of all ages, including over 60s, and took over the Lothian Gay and Lesbian Switchboard which was the first LGBTQ+ helpline in the UK. they are solid.
Scottish Trans have a list of trans support organisations here but some of them (like ERCC) have lost some ground in the last few years. still, most of them are sound.
And this one isn’t specifically trans but the Good Law Project has been involved in defending teams rights in court in several recent cases, notably appealing the puberty blocker ban following the Cass Review.
You want to call your House rep now and tell them Trump needs to be impeached immediately for defying a Supreme Court order (re: Kilmar Abrego Garcia), which functionally voids our constitution and means no one in America has rights anymore.

As of now, anybody can be disappeared, no due process, no recourse. Trump is openly disregarding a Supreme Court order and says he’ll send US citizens to El Salvador.
This is not a drill.
Call your House rep and tell them they must impeach. Tell them if they cannot bring themselves to impeach, they must resign. A more open and shut case to impeach is not possible. Trump and his administration are saying openly, in public, that anybody can be kidnapped by ICE, even in error, and disappeared permanently.
Call your senators, too, and tell them to support impeachment (it goes to them once it passes a majority House vote).

On Tuesday (1), the University Council of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), in the state of São Paulo, unanimously approved the creation of a quota system for trans, transvestite and non-binary people on the institution’s undergraduate courses. Reservations will be available through the National High School Exam (Enem)-Unicamp notice and for both public and private school students.
The new policy establishes that undergraduate courses with up to 30 regular places must reserve at least one for the aforementioned population, while courses with 30 or more places must offer two. Academic units will decide whether these places will be regular or additional. If they are additional, there will be no obligation to fill them. In cases where places are withdrawn from open competition, half of them will be allocated to Black and Indigenous candidates.
Admission will be based on self-declaration accompanied by a life story, which will be assessed by a verification committee. According to Unicamp’s Permanent Entrance Examination Commission (Comvest, in Portuguese), 279 candidates applied for the 2025 entrance exam under their social names, 40 of whom were invited. Visual Arts, Biological Sciences and Medicine were the top undergraduate courses in this group last year.

DOGE just froze funding to vital Federal and Indigenous conservation programs devoted to supporting the very delicate and tenuous existence of the black-footed ferret.
I fell in love with these animals as a kid traveling to our National Parks. Their rarity and ferocity made me sharply aware, even as a child, of just how much of a responsibility we have toward our environment. I can’t bear the thought of them being a fucking casualty of Trump and Musk.

Hey all! I wanted to bring this back with an update! I just had a zoom meeting with Sean Grassel, the CEO of Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance (he’s a really cool guy), and he said this post helped raise $10,000 for the organization!! I’m so amazed and so thankful to all of you for sharing and donating.
I also wanted to draw attention to another nonprofit that also had its federal funding frozen, Prairie Wildlife Research. While Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance is kind of more of an infrastructural nonprofit building up indigenous community-lead efforts of conservation and stewardship, Prairie Wildlife Research is some hardcore, boots-on-the-ground biology science that are actively tagging and vaccinating Black Footed Ferrets, and putting out research papers!
Oliver then proceeded to detail how with $50 and knowledge of the law he was able to successfully apply online to create a debt buying company named “Central Asset Recovery Professionals,” or as Oliver put it, “CARP” named after “a bottom-feeding fish.”
After setting up a rudimentary website for CARP, the satirical, but still real company was offered a $15 million package of medical debt for $60,000.
Oliver explained that the debt was out of statute, which means it is the kind of debt that a collector can only continue to collect, but not sue the debtor for.
Then, instead of chasing down the 9,000 debtors in the debt package as a normal collection agency would, Oliver decided to stage the largest one-time giveaway in television history and work with the nonprofit RIP Medical Debt to forgive the $15 million with no consequences for the debtors.
Okay but now I know what I want to do of I get rich?

RIP Medical Debt is a charity (and therefore takes donations). They buy the rights to medical debt and then forgive them. So far they’ve forgiven over 1B in medical debt.
So a little ray of hope for someone out there today.

I got a letter recently letting me know that a $3k medical bill from an emergency room visit in 2018 had been purchased by Undue Medical Debt and destroyed. Gone forever. They were very clear that I didn’t have to do anything, but they would appreciate it if I would talk to people about it to spread the word about what they were doing. Fucking phenomenal.
