One of the benefits from Jaime and Brienne sort of being stuck with each other for most of his ASOS arc is that you can really see things shifting between them. From Jaime trying to study her so he can hopefully fight her and free himself, to him slowly getting to know her to the point he can predict how she would react in a situation, from him being angry for being a prisoner over a year and sick of her judgement to genuinely trying to start a conversation, from some thoughts going from “I” to “we” as if they’re allies or maybe even friends, from thinking about killing her to helping her (and risking his own life in the process), from calling her wench to calling her Brienne, and her too, from ignoring his attempts at a conversation to being the one who takes iniative herself, from despising him to liking him enough to try to comfort him at one of his most vulnerable moments, from not caring if he dies to taking care of him when can’t/won’t do it by himself, from calling him kingslayer to referring to him as Jaime… Since it’s mostly just the two of them together, those little changes are way more noticeable and I love seeing how things gradually evolve between the two. I’m not even close to the end of the book and, still, the development is undeniable.

That is because I carved Jaime from Cersei. She came first and he is her mirror image. Book accurate, hehe!
