In 2005, she undertook a PhD at Victoria University focussing on development in the early years of independent Timor-Leste. This was later used as the basis of a book, 'Activism and Aid: Young citizens' experiences of development and democracy in Timor-Leste' published by Monash University Publishing in 2016. She has been a committee member of Friends of Suai/Covalima since 2004 and is an Honorary Fellow at the College of Arts and Education, Victoria University.ver menos
