However, some of my co-workers didn't like me, because they thought being passionate about vehicles was a man's hobby, and being a mechanic was a man's job. They thought women don't know anything about motorcycles, and that I was just trying to get their attention. I worked very hard, but I was eventually forced to quit that job. I wasn't surprised, but I was really upset. I thought, "why do I have to give up what I love because of my gender?" I think many people have experienced sexism, but it's not good to be judged by gender. That is something we can't choose or change. I hope one day people will be free to do anything, regardless of gender.

A: the “are” should be “is” because the verb’s subject is singular (“the number”)

It may help to look at it without the extra clause:
Correct: “The number [...] is decreasing”
Incorrect: “The number [...] are decreasing.”

A: I think "shortage of sleep" is unnatural as people do not really use it much, "sleep deprivation" or "lack of sleep" is more fitting ^~^

sleep deprivation means you are not getting enough sleep. In simpler terms, it's shortage of sleep, but it's a more commonly used term than "shortage" :DDD

Also, desease is misspelled. It should be disease ^~^

An improved version of the sentence would be:

I have lost much weight because of lack of sleep and the stomach disease.

Other than those minor errors, the sentence is grammatically correct 🤓
