Buying white bookcases when we were going to paint them black. Unfortunately we hadn’t made the decision of whether or not we were going to paint them yet, so we went with white since we thought we might leave them white. If we had known for sure we’d be painting them black, we would have bought the dark brown color since any scratches wouldn’t be as noticeable. 2. Buying glass panel doors then trying to paint them. Unfortunately when we painted the original glass panel doors we purchased for this project, paint seeped in between the glass and the frames unevenly. After installing the bookcases, we primed & painted and installed some OXBERG doors to go along the bottom of the built in. Then it was time to add trim! We used a 1.5” lattice trim to cover any seams where the bookcases came together and continued the trim on the base as well. After that we gave everything a final coat of black paint and installed some casing to frame the built in. Last we added some adorable gold knobs and it was finished!! 👏 we couldn’t be happier with how this project turned out 🤩 what questions do you have for us??
