Leon Doucette on Instagram: "Sharing a bit of the process behind this painting. The early stages are pretty self evident I think- mostly establishing placement with simple lines. Then comes the “closed grisaille” stage, which involves establishing the values and (to some degree) textures using only black and white paint. It’s called “closed” when you use it more opaquely to bury the warmer imprimatura, creating an opportunity to manually introduce color through glazing. I love the indirect painting process and am happy to share if you guys have any questions. #wipart #oilpainting #traditionalart #portrait #oilportrait #stepbystep #behindthescenes #paintingprocess #portraitdrawing #workinprogress #art #artwork #arttip #oilpainting #artadvice #realistpainting #portraitpainter #learntopaint" 3d Portrait, Art Advice, Oil Portrait, Painting Process, White Paint, Learn To Paint, Art Tips, Simple Lines, White Paints
