Just a quick update photo showing the double track junction laid and ballasted. A start on the scenery has been made with embankments roughly built up around the right-of-way. Still lots to do--two more table modules to build up in less than 7 days?! We'll see if I can sustain more days of building until 2:00am. :/

I've been mentioning a full-on LEGO city (note the lowercase 'C') for awhile now, and at last I have decided upon where it will go, and that has given me an exact size, which in turn let me flesh out a possible set of details in BlueBrick. This is my most recent LEGO ballast design for North American mainlines. The ties are a mixture of old dark grey and new dark bluish grey. The moss is olive green, the dirt is dark tan, and the ballast itself is light bluish grey. The rails are ME Models silver rails. The modules are built to the standard 32 x 32 MILS configuration.

To keep the road smooth for the RC cars to roll around on we ended up producing an entire SNOT road, which was then inset into the landscape. Doing it sideways also allowed us to take advantage of the tiny gaps between bricks to slowly flex the brick road up and down the slope of the terrain and around the corners. We also added the letters of "Mount Hondarama" into the landscape of the hill itself.
