On Valentine’s Day — or any day, really — ask yourself this question: What Do I Love? It’s a simple enough question but the answers may not come easily! It’s a fun exercise, though, one that is often done with children in grade school. Yet it’s never too late to reacquaint yourself with yourself. This Valentine's Day, your child can make a "Map of My Heart," a map that doesn't chart arteries and atriums, but her most treasured people, places, and things.

The Open Country of Woman's Heart from The Bride's Book Of Etiquette (1948). A preface to the maps reads: Over a hundred years ago an anonymous young lady of wit and perspicacity mapped the hearts which we reproduce here. While the gentle irony is of her own era, the sentiment is ageless-- so we reprint them for the romantics of today to frame for keeps.
