Are you looking for a fun way to teach students similes? Simile monsters are an easy, exciting way to get your students to practice figurative language in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade classrooms. This activity can be stretched out over a week, or can be taught in one day. Students will walk through the writing process by planning, drafting, revising, editing and publishing their writing into a fun and colorful craft. It makes a great bulletin board as well!

Today we FINALLY got to finish one of the activities we started last week. We've been working with similes. They are so fun! And when they start catching on to similes, they will find them WHENEVER they read. But we started off reading I'm as Quick as a Cricket. Another good book for it is Crazy like a Fox.
