Tolerance activities

Teach children and students tolerance, diversity, and peacefulness. Teaching resources, and a list of ways to teach tolerance to kids are included in this blog post. One of the things that I am asked to do most often when training teachers or teens in ways to become more inclusive is to share specific activities that can be replicated in the classroom. Teach students to tolerate others by helping them think beyond what they see on the outside. For example, I share a story about how I overcame my feelings, and actions, connected with road rage. I tell them that I decided that maybe those drivers in such a big hurry really did have an emergency - maybe someone they love is hurt and they need to get to the hospital. When I think that way, I feel more like just getting out of the way and letting them get around me instead of getting angry.
