I am writing these words after losing hope in everyone… except for you, my friends. Tumblr has a very large number of users, estimated in the millions . That’s an enormous number! But imagine, with all those of people, how would you feel if people saw you and ignored you? You’d feel deeply disappointed, right? Or maybe you’d even wish for death.

Have you ever wished for death? For me, I feel like I’d rather die than be ignored by everyone. If I wasn’t in desperate need of help, I wouldn’t ask anyone for it. I really need help.

Imagine for a moment that you have a small child you love dearly, and you’re forced to watch her suffer in front of your eyes. This isn’t just an imagination for me; it’s my reality. My family and I live this pain every day.

The Rafah crossing will open its doors for travel a month from now.
If we do not collect enough money for all of us to go out, we will be forced to separate and the family will be dispersed. Please stand with us and do not allow us to separate and our family to separate. We all want to get out of here.

Please, be our hope. Be our voice. Be the ones who save us from despair. Don’t ignore us. Donate, even if it’s just $5 .

There are so many people reading this post right now. I beg anyone who sees these words to donate if they can, and if not, to share this post. Please, don’t leave us behind.

Be our family, or think of us as members of your own family, and save us from this suffering.

No matter how small the amount, your help means the world to us. And if you can’t donate, share this post and add a few kind words to inspire others to help.

Thank you so much, everyone. I wish you all the best.

Gaza Does Not Die… But We Are Bleeding ✊

I am Musab Ahmed. I once had a home, I once had a life… but now, everything I knew is nothing but rubble. My house was completely destroyed by the relentless bombing that took away even our memories.

My body did not escape this war—I was injured in my shoulder, underwent surgery, but I still need another operation to regain my full mobility. Yet, the greatest pain is not mine… it’s the pain of my daughter Lama, whose little hand could not withstand the bombing. She was injured and had to have a metal plate implanted in her hand, and we are still struggling to get her the treatment she needs.

image

All we ask for is a chance to live… A life that was stolen from us under the bombs and destruction. We need your support to continue our treatment and to try and rebuild what’s left of us.

Help us stay strong—Gaza is bleeding.

my friend tarek has been doing some amazing community organizing in palestine — he’s been teaching classes for children with my other friend farah AND distributing water and providing iftar meals during ramadan throughout rafah! his brother just had a major orthopedic surgery he had to wait about a year for and since food and water is incredibly scarce he can’t properly recover. please donate to their efforts!!!

donate to tarek’s family

donate to provide iftar meals

donate to the water initiative

donate to the challenge classes

quick reminder: tarek isn’t just a word on your screen, he is my friend.

he’s 21, the same age as me. before the war he was studying to be a translator and he dreamt of voice acting, just like so many of you reading this. (he’s pretty good too actually.) he would probably not call himself a poet but every few days he posts something so beautifully worded that he might as well be a poet laureate. he recently wrote: “gaza is sick of being praised by anyone. gaza is tired that its image is on satellite tv. gaza is sick of its name in the sad poems. gaza is tired of the repeated endings.” the message is clear — sentiments are not enough, his people need HELP.

every day i tell him im doing everything i can. and it’s true, i am, but its barely anything, as i’m disabled and bedridden. i’ve kept that fact from him out of shame because i see what he has to endure each day, but i feel SO POWERLESS. every time an announcement breaks that more bombs have dropped in the night or more innocent people were gunned down in broad daylight, my heart sinks with terror and i wonder if i’ve lost my friend. it really would mean so much — not just to him, to me — if you could donate anything you can spare to tarek and his family. he deserves the whole world and more.

i sometimes forget that people aren't as aware of niche gaming history stuff so i'm going to take a moment to talk about the single greatest mental buffer i have against shit rng in games: the existence of aaron cybertron zheng

cybertron has one of the longest careers in competitive pokemon. he's qualified for worlds nine times, won two nationals and five regionals. he's also worked as an official commentator for TPC. none of these are why he is most (in)famous though.

he's most famous because in worlds 2013 he missed five will-o-wisps (a 1/1024 chance) to lose the set and the tournament.

game freak buffed will-o-wisp's accuracy (from 75% to 85%) with the release of Gen VI - released a few months after worlds 2013. the general consensus in the competitive community is that the buff was due to the cybertron match.

it's probably the single most infamous moment in competitive pokemon of all time. even official accounts are known to roast him for it.

A tweet from Aaron "Cybertron" Zheng that reads "I'm blocking this account". It is a quote retweet of the official Play Pokemon twitter account, posting a clip from the 2013 match with the comment "Aaron Zheng refused to accept that Will-O-Wisp simply would not connect with opponent Ryosuke Kosuge’s team during Worlds 2013. The attack eventually landed, though chance began to make it seem like it never would. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try, try, try…again?" The tweet was sent in 2020.ALT

there's a lot to be said about the sportsmanship involved in still playing the game after something like this, let alone accepting it and playing it up as a bit while continuing to play a part in the community. but above all it's a mantra against horseshit: remember, no matter how bad your RNG is, you won't be losing worlds semifinals to five consecutive one-in-four misses.

A tweet from Aaron "Cybertron" Zheng on February 14, 2023. It's a fake Valentine's card in magenta, reading "WoW, I really miss you!", featuring a picture of Zheng from 2013, Rotom-W, and the text for a missed Will-O-Wisp.ALT

What Strength Really Means 💪

✅️ Vetted by @gazavetters {537}✅️

Hey everyone, my name is Abdelmajed. I don’t usually talk much about myself, but today, I want to share a little piece of my story.

I was born and raised in Gaza, a place that has always been my home 🏡. I grew up surrounded by my family, my friends, and the streets that I knew like the back of my hand. Life wasn’t always easy, but we had love, laughter, and dreams. I used to think that no matter what happened, home would always be here. But life has a way of changing things in ways we never expect.

Over the past months, everything I once knew has disappeared. The streets that were once filled with children playing are now silent. The houses that held so many memories are now just rubble. And the people I loved—some of them are gone forever. 💔
