while both conservative and liberal gender ideologies are harmful, there is something particularly insidious about the idea that a person should not only endure their oppression but also identify with it

it’s like:
conservative: youre a woman, so you should perform femininity.
liberal: youre a woman, so you should perform femininity—and you’re going to like it
