Stardust Demon is a retro adventure metroidvania about exploring alien planets, which a heavy emphasis on story and charming, strange, and cute characters. It features a mixture of challenges, from platforming to fighting to solving puzzles. Power up with an array of abilities and many hidden upgrades and secrets.
Experience the story featuring quirky demons and aliens. And many hidden rooms await in the depths of the planets to test your skill and knowledge of Algol's powers.
The game features 3D CGI FMV cutscenes, and lovingly-crafted pixel art graphics of hazardous environments and cozy towns. The soundtrack features an eclectic mixture of styles together from retro-FM-synthesis to metal to electronica, featuring over 50 tracks!

- Blast baddies with fire breath.
- Throw bombs that stick to anything.
- Teleport boxes to solve puzzles.
- Bounce beam ricochets off walls & neutralizes static charges.

Just bought the game on steam! I also bought Cave Story since everyone said it's inspired by it and recommended as well
I would like to ask in your opinion, should I play cave story first then your game, or your game first then cave story? Which one you think would be a better experience?
Hmm, its tough to say! they're pretty different tbh, even though there's similarities for sure. I think they both offer unique experiences, with stardust being a bit more of a platformer-type game a la Celeste. Could be fun to try Cave Story first though so you kind of get the inspirations more clearly when going into Stardust.
Okay, just wondering, how much was this inspired by Cave Story? Because looking at the screenshots, that's the vibe I'm getting.
Alot, hehe! We're both big fans of cave story and that was definitely the main inspiration for this game.
I can see that! Might have to grab this...even if I still haven't beaten Cave Story...(stuck in the ants area, tank boss too hard qwq)
The game has lots of charm and I think you'd have fun with it. Much like Cave Story (and metroidvanias in general) there might be parts where you might feel stuck and unsure of what to do... but we also created a handy walkthrough to help out in case you do!
