For many institutions, this new era of online entertainment became a true challenge. If earlier digital art was an experimental practice, which not everyone wanted to understand, in today's situation it became an impossible opinion due to the fact that all of us did our best to master the digital sphere while working from home. The paper seeks to demonstrate how digital documentation and digital exhibitions became an important part of contemporary exhibition life. Through different examples of video, media, and other types of "digitized" art the author will show digital exhibits may create a place where all viewers are able to come from any location in the world. The main focus of the paper is a case study of three digital exhibitionstwo made at the Russian State Art Library as a part of the "RSAL Studio" program, one made by students of the first Russian Digital Art MA program "-Da. Digital Art". Each exhibit has a different approach to the concept of demonstration of art and methods of its creation. The paper will be followed by an image demonstration, which the author will prepare in case of the proposal approval.

That is why we need to have detailed descriptions of such pieces made by the eyewitness viewers. These descriptions help us to trace the installation's "life" because some of them may transform due to different factors as: adjustment to different exhibition spaces, curatorial conception and etc. The author will study these transformations and the way it affects the representation and interaction with the viewer on pieces produced by D. Its formation became possible after the transformation of video into one of the most important mediums in the sphere of contemporary art. It happened because portable video cameras became available at the market. It became the turning point in the development of video installation. It is also noted in the text that there have been some argues about the place of video installation-if it belongs to video art or to installation art and the author's point of view on this question. M. McLuhan's ideas of "hot" and "cold" media which had strongly influenced the formation of this installation art type have been highlighted in the paper. The main accent in the piece strikes the reader's attention to a variety of creative strategy approaches in the video installation field. To cover this issue, the author used the method of comparative study, where the author draws an analogy between video installation and different art practices. This method allows brings to notice the sculpture-likeness of the image-bearing elements, usage of the "trompe-l'oeil" (a visual art technique which allows creating an illusion of three-dimensional space in a two-dimensional image), aesthetics, interaction of the installation pieces of art with the spectator and, also, the usage of time as a medium in such artworks.

The author points out the performative nature of live installation because originally it is recognized as a part of the delegated performance by C. Bishop. Also, the paper brings to notice the use of the ‘live’ phenomenon in robotic installations. Works made by artists O. Kroytor, S. Spirina, M. Cattelan, S. Sierra, M. Hatoum, L.-F. Demer, D. Kavarga are used as examples. It is concluded that installation art may synthesize in oneself inanimated and animated objects and interact with the sensuous nature of the viewer or imitate human activity through the use of robots.

The author pays attention to those pieces where artists who work with sound either enforce their installation works with some visual material or create pieces with no visual images, so the possible audiences could imagine them on their own. This method shows the use of synaesthesia and auto-curation phenomena that can be used during the interference of the audiences with such pieces of art. Representation of sound installations as a piece of art that has sculptural origin is an important part of the paper because the aesthetics of the described artists implies that. Also, the paper describes and analyzes works of artists like John Cage, Nam June Paik, Nemanja Cvijanović, Taus Makhacheva, Younes Baba-Ali, Sergey Filatov, Crys Cole.
Keywords: installation, sound installation, sound, interference, engagement, viewer, aesthetics, sound environment, synaesthesia, auto-curation.

The author considers that installation art's background has principles trompe-l’oeil in it. Using frescos made by Andrea Mantegna in the interior of Camera degli Sposi as an example the author describes how some principles of trompe-l’oeil are borrowed by the contemporary artists. These principles are: aesthetics of deceit, creation of an illusive reality. Also, it is mentioned that trompe-l’oeil could be an important step in creating VR installations as a total form of the Renaissance technique. Works described in the article were made by artists: I. Kabakov, I. Nakhova, Ya. Kusama, D. Namdakov.
