2. Place the boxes in a quiet, private area of the coop, away from high traffic. Chickens prefer a peaceful environment for laying eggs, so avoid spots that are too bright or noisy.

3. Use soft, clean bedding like straw or hay to make the boxes comfortable. Avoid materials that can be too abrasive or retain moisture.

4. Ensure the boxes are easily accessible for both the hens and you. Consider designing them so you can easily check for eggs from outside the coop and clean them out as needed.

5. Make sure the nesting boxes are secure from predators. This moveable chicken coop was designed to keep costs low, be easily converted between use for meat birds or egg laying chickens, and also to be easy to clean (just move forward to fresh ground, and voila, a clean coop!) These plans were written by real homesteaders who actually built two of these coops for our own small homestead over 3 years ago! We still use them to this day - one for our egg laying flock & the other for our meat birds. ☺️

If you want the build plans to make this for your flock, let me know! 🛠️
