Established in 1938, this 83-acre site is an abundant collection of palms, cycads, flowering trees and shrubs, vines, and fruit trees. Fairchild is home to more than 6000 plant species, many endangered in their native habit. Benefactor Col. Robert H. Montgomery named the garden for Dr. David Fairchild, botanist and founder of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Foreign Seed and Plant Introduction.

The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens opens daily from 10 am to 5 pm. The botanical garden opens on Tuesdays earlier for members at 7 amp, and members can check in at the South Entrance Gate. Furthermore, you can find tickets sold at any of the entrance gates.
