Want to get rid of diaper rash FAST? Diaper rashes can be caused by many things, but most of all the skin breaks down as a result of the ammonia from urine and poop mixed with bacteria sitting on the sensitive skin causing a rash. And while we do recommend trying to catch those early hunger cues to avoid an overly fussy baby, sometimes that just doesn’t happen. And sometimes baby goes 0-100 really quick. And sometimes when you’re both figuring out breastfeeding, frustration can be a very real part of latching in general. 

📣But here’s the thing. It’s really hard to latch a fussy baby because they are so dysregulated. And when a baby is dysregulated, it’s very hard for them to effectively utilize those reflexes that help them latch. 

⭐️So the BEST thing we can do is help baby get organized again!⭐️

It can be so normal! I see you and I know it’s challenging. So many parents think the answer to baby’s evening fussiness is to supplement- and if that’s your plan that’s amazing! If however, you are hoping to exclusively breastfeed, there really is no reason to offer a supplement in the evening if your little one is growing and has enough wet and dirty diapers.

Here’s why: 
In the evening breastmilk supply decreases slightly- this will result in a slower flow and less milk at each feed. Baby is also more tired in the evening and has less patience than usual. When you put those things together it results in a fussy newborn and stressed and anxious parents wondering about formula.
