In this video I take you through how to use a tool called pinking shears to get that nice finish. Pinking shears are a fantastic alternative to a serger and they are much less expensive. If you’re looking for a good pair I recommend the light weight 9” pinking shear by @ldh_scissors I struggle with many scissors but ldh has great lightweight scissors that don’t cause pain in my hands. I absolutely recommend them and love all of their lightweight shears. If you want a pair of quality pinking shears to finish the insides of your clothes professionally comment “pink” and I’ll send you the link! #sewingtips #sewingtips Tips Sewing, Pinking Shears, My Struggle, Sewing Hacks, Did You Know, Sewing Projects, Sewing, Knitting, Pink

Madeline | slow sewing | sewing tips for beginners on Instagram: "No serger? No problem! 🪡🤠🧵

I've been sewing for over 16 years and have never had a serger. For one I don't have space for one and two I don't want to have to thread it all the time. THIS technique is what I do instead of serging to finish a seam. 💖

All you need is a machine that can do a zig zag and straight stitch. I like to trim my seams when I want them to be less obvious but many situations, I just keep the original seam allowance and zig zag the edge. It's easy and doesn't require extra equipment. 🤠

Give this a like ❤️ if you plan to try it out and follow me for more sewing tips 🧵 happy sewing 😊🪡
