Large-scale multi-touch hardware designer and producer Ideum has teamed up with the Touch Systems division of 3M to launch the Platform 46 range of Windows 8 multi-touch tables.

New Mexico's Ideum has announced that 4K versions of its 55-, 65- and 100-inch multitouch tables and interactive walls will start to ship from later this month.

The Drafting Table 65 is the first to incorporate 3M™ projected-capacitive touch technology. It is a fully integrated system that incorporates a large multitouch screen, oriented to a 30-degree angle. The Drafting Table 65 P-CAP is impervious to light interference and supports up to 60 touch points for multi-user interaction.

Ideum worked with the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian to create the Cusco Experience, a 3D model of the Inka capital c.1531 packed with image galleries, videos, flythrough tours, detailed 3D scans, and 360-degree panoramic VR images (which were captured by Ideum).
