My friend wanted to provide shade over her kids play area. We sketched up several designs before coming up with this. Treated 2x2’s provide a strong frame while keeping a minimal design. Turnbuckles allow the shade to be tightened but still easy to remove. The Ryobi ONE+ Palm router and a round over bit worked great to provide smooth edges throughout the structure.
