The first part of the sentence (Harry walked past classrooms where lessons were taking place) is about Harry walking by classrooms. In the second part, (catching snatches of what was happening within) we are still talking about Harry. So Harry is "catching snatches" of classes, or "hearing and seeing a little bit" of the classes (as he goes by). Does that help at all? This is very hard!

The bus, which had come from around the corner, was heading towards the people standing in the road.

Coming around the corner, the bus was heading straight towards the people standing in the road.

You see .. you keep urgency in the story.

In this case, I suggest: "I prefer reading the physical Harry Potter books."

"Physical" is the common word used to describe the opposite of electronic versions of something (books, videogames...).

To sound more natural, you can eliminate "Harry" from the second clause because Harry is the subject in both sentences. For example, "Harry fought with Voldermort, and defeated him. I want to use magic like Harry." That sounds natural. Be careful with pronouns. Sentence 2 and sentence 3 both use "him." But "him" means Voldemort in sentence 2 and "him" means Harry in sentence 3. You need to change the "him" to a proper noun in one of the sentences.
