Base Haircolor: (I'm either 5 or 6) Wella 6NN seems to be an exact match to my base, where as 6NW seems to be to dark, almost a dark blackish brown. (20 developer lifts 2 levels, lifting from a 5 to 7 or 6 to 8 color level, where as 40 developer lifts 3 levels, lifting from a 5 to 8 or 6 to 9 color level) However this is not light enough to be a 9 or 10, therefore it will have brassy undertones, toner can lift and remove. A semi or demi permanent color must be used to stain hair. Here’s what I mean by that - She’s a level 4, and her babylights are a level 8. The finely woven babylights are NOT there to add contrast (that’s the job of the teasylights), but they’re there to change the BACKGROUND. Her babylights are so fine that they DON’T add much contrast. Instead, they end up blending & mixing in with the background creating an overall appearance of a lighter level 6 background (level 4 base + level 8 babylights = level 6-ish “background” when blended together). Okay now that we have that out of the way, let me explain this process.
