🤔 Ask your child how many sounds are in the word. Talk about which sounds are spelled the way it sounds like they would be spelled.

For example, in the word “said” the S and the D both make their expected sound.

The unusual part is the spelling of the MIDDLE sound which, in this case is spelled with AI.

(Ex. Play would be P/UH/ - L - A - Y/UH/) No more /UH/ in letter sounds, unless it’s short u ‼️ (I put it in slashes because that means it’s a sound) Reading is a science, not a secret 💫 SAVE for later ✨ #scienceofreading #parenting #readingparents #kids #homeschool #scienceofreadingresources #kidsreading #readingtip Letter Sound Intervention, Letter Sound Games, Kindergarten Spelling, Teaching Letter Sounds, Letter Sound Activities, Teach English To Kids, Sounding Out Words, Teaching Toddlers, Struggling Students
