How would Renegade treat always-a-girl Robin Jason? The same? Better? Worse?

Renegade would definitely treat F!Jaybin a lot nicer, at least superficially.

I see many ways this could go.

Firstly, this version can be a lighter, enemies-to-lovers with cat-and-mouse, mainstream romantic take where Renegade finds it amusing to terrify Jay while she’s on the field, but he’ll never actually hurt her. In fact, if Jay is actually in danger, Dick will always save her faster than Bruce can blink. Romance and slow burn get-togeter yadda yadda

Then there’s the dark romance/dark erotica take which will follow pretty close to Renegade’s version, except the noncon will be softer and more in tone with the dark erotica flavor. Dick will be kind to her, praise her, and prioritize her pleasure… except she can’t say no and can’t leave. He won’t be as degrading as he would be with M!Jaybin as they wouldn’t butt heads as much. Dick will still be deeply damaged and believes he can’t love again after Kory, but F!Jay will be treated more as a prized, pampered pet than a toy to be abused and used. Dick will still be angry that Jay is on the Titans, and he will keep her in captivity and out of sight, but he won’t feel vengeful toward her. He simply… “enjoys” her company.

Tommy is what I usually name Dick and Jay’s kid, so that sounds just like a father-and-son business name to me.

Can I ask your preference? In all of your stories Dick clearly has a dark side and he’s obsessive, possessive, and lusting over Jason. Which is totally hot. But in some he also is in love with Jason and cares about him, his health, and his happiness, despite his twisted actions. In others he doesn’t actually seem to like Jason or treat him as human being, he even treats him as less than an object. In your different Renegade AUs I think the big difference is the main story is clearly meant to eventually be a love story while the others are just Jason suffering with Dick never having a conscience about it, which I totally get is a kink. I was just curious of the dichotomy of Dicks you write.

So here’s the thing, I see fiction as a safe place to explore a large variety of themes. Sometimes that’s over-the-top smut with hentai logic, other times it can be crack or whump. There’s so much to explore with all facets of relationships, characters, and genres, so why keep it all the same? It’ll be boring if everything I write feels the same (okay I lied, there are some kinks and tropes I would write over and over again and never get tired.)

I love Renegade!Dick as a Byronic hero with his own demons but not incapable of love, but also, objectification is one of my biggest kinks. Dickjay is also my OTP and I’ll always have a soft spot for them (which can’t be said about many other pairings I’ve written before). There will always be some form of (twisted though they may be) love and care (or the potential for them) underneath the hurt.
