In Spider SY AU, another benefit from SY asking for Stories, is that the villagers developed a better Morales than any other.

Because stories may just be Stories. But they're also Lessons. Lessons on what not to do. Lessons to be a good person. Lessons of Past Errors. Lessons of Dangers. And SY is someone who's constantly criticising those stories, and call it idiotic if the story lesson is idiotic.

So it only makes sense that for the village whose gods ask for stories as payment, they would not only make stories, but also take to the hearts of the lessons it represents.

So the villagers try not to be arrogant. Not to be greedy. To be kind. To be fair. Take to heart that SY may be their god. But gods are also fickle, with no known when he will leave. They try to stand on their own feet without relying on gods.

And I think it's beautiful.

ogh, I forgor this was here and thought I responded already qwq

But yeh, that’s what I’m going for uwu

I’m feeling some Cult of the Lamb in this Chili’s tonight, so…

Imagine the Lamb growing big.

They started out quite small. A regular size compared to others. But after becoming the only crown bearer in the land, they start getting big n tall.

Their horns grow and start to curl, their wool grows thicker and longer. They change from wearing just their cloak to dresses and skirts and shawls. They tie a cute bow around the base of their tail just because and weave ribbons through their wool.

They’re tall, round, and smell of lanolin and wet grass, a jolly smile on their face, even as they kill insurgents and protect their flock. They start wielding a shepherd’s staff, quite close to a scythe but rounded, blunt, with a little tinkling bell.

Defender and protector they are, they never lost their kindness in the end.

And Narinder, looking upon them, feels that godhood suits them well.

Of course, he’s not the type to say something like that in a straightforward manner.

But Lamb does constantly have to remind Narinder to please not rub against their legs as they walk. They don’t want to trip on him.

Hey, so, I commissioned @blintzestein to do a song for me and they did and it's fuckin awesome so I ended up making a CD cover sort of thing for it.

A purple cartoon hedgehog in the Sonic the Hedgehog style. She is wearing a white bow, a light blue sweater vest, a white short-sleeved shirt, a darker blue skirt with yellow pocket linings, and socks inside her light blue sneakers. She is posed in front of a blue, pentagon-speckled background. The background says "Marnie" in capitalized yellow lettering. The foreground has a red rectangle with the words "The Mighty" in all caps in white, sitting diagonally and partially off the shape.ALT

I like to think of a Lamb that, in the end, isn’t vengeful.

All they want is a family.

Sure, they’re a little idiotic (why do you want to eat poop, dear?) and can be intolerable at times (stop dissenting, I literally just wouldn’t feed you poop) and they die too easily. And sure, they’re the last sheep.

But they just don’t want to hate anymore. They choose happiness because they feel better about it. They do feel regret and frustration and anger and loss. But deep-seated hatred is absent.

Perhaps Narinder calls them immature for maintaining these emotions as a god, but they’re fine with it. Because of those emotions, they can choose to love with all their heart.

That’s where I’m going with Lucy, tbh, but she’s a little…

Well, she doesn’t feel vengeful, but she does want to protect the new flock she’s building. And to do that, she pursues power to an almost manic degree. And she lovebombs and coerces and drives herself to do heinous acts to anyone who betrays the trust she put in them, even if she doesn’t want them to leave. Even if she clings to them. Feels the need to fix them.

She’s a lil messed up, but she’s got heart. She’s also got more than one crown, so that’s, er, a situation.

I want Lamb to hug Narinder.

I want Narinder to be all hissy and spitty about it.

And then Narinder starts hovering around them. And then Narinder starts standing even closer. And then Narinder places his head on their shoulder or the top of their head. And then Narinder stares at Lamb.

And then when Lamb holds him again, he sags and sinks into it because it’s a soft touch. One that doesn’t hurt. One that smells nice. One that exudes peace. One that still worships him.

One that reminds him of what his family once was before it was all torn apart.

Give the touch-starved cat his daily cuddles, please and thank you.

ronear asked:

Question about Spider SY village. With Spider silk, which are so much stronger than even chain, smooth as Silk, beautiful like pearl rainbow, being so readily available for a story, how much of the village is covered in it? How much of that sillk is being used in utilities? Clothes? Rope replacement? Beds?

Because that would be strange as hell for outsiders.

Oh, yeah, Xiaoshan Village has replaced quite a number of things with silk, though they tend to use it as a core for some things rather than replace it completely.

So, like, steel core ropes have been somewhat replicated for non-stone bridges, and, having learned of its fire-retardant nature, they have the beginnings of fire safety practices by having a fire sheet.

Because, while they appreciate the use of the silk, they understand that access to it may not be forever. Gods have come and gone, their favor ebbing and flowing. There’s many a story of a faithful follower not being heard by the one they dedicated their lives to.

Moreover, Shen Yuan is his own being. They were saved by him and protected by his webs, but it’s not as though he’s purely benevolent or prefers them. They were simply fortunate. Fortunate that Shen Yuan arrived in the nearby forest.

They don’t know exactly how long that fortune will last, so as much as they greatly value the silk, they tend to stock it rather than always use it for everything. They hope, of course, that they’ll be able to trade with Lulin Zhizhu for as long as they live, but few things are certain and it’s best to plan ahead.

At least, that’s how they view it.

So, while they do show off some stuff, in the end, they also ration its use.
