craving to paint this bark I saw on a walk today, nature's own colour and hue variations are always the best to observe in person 🌈

I could see this rough, bark texture being in my set design because when Tamino is in the forest, the trees in the set design to to look like actual trees with the black paint on them.

This week, 3rd grade is starting their Amate Bark Paintings! This art form comes from Mexico, and the Otomi & Nahua people. They create the paper by hand, like their ancestors did long, long ago.
