The dress was heavily inspired by the paintings of Lucas Cranach the Elder, in fact dresses like these are called 'Cranach dresses', because he painted so many. Description I've started a new series of character designs; historically accurate Disney! I will be designing Disney characters according to the fashion that was worn when they lived (according to the original fairytale). I started with Snow White, who lived in Germany around 1550. Half of the time I spent on this was spent on researching the fashion of that time. I tried to create a design that still resembles her original Disney look.
