- Historically accurate Rapunzel - I imagined her as a late to mid 16th century German girl, more specifically at the court of Saxony. The dress was heavily inspired by the paintings of Lucas Cranach the Elder, in fact dresses like these are called 'Cranach dresses', because he painted so many. I think the German renaissance is my favourite, fashion wise. The clothing was so intricate and feminine. I'm a bit sad we don't wear dresses like that anymore haha 😄 #digitalpainting #tangled #rapu... Description I've started a new series of character designs; historically accurate Disney! I will be designing Disney characters according to the fashion that was worn when they lived (according to the original fairytale). I started with Snow White, who lived in Germany around 1550. Half of the time I spent on this was spent on researching the fashion of that time. I tried to create a design that still resembles her original Disney look.
