Hello Flickr friends - I just got back from Mexico where I spent 8 days visiting the kind and beautiful Purhepecha women of the state of Michoacan (also, the very talented Mazahua women from Michoacan and the state of Mexico, and the delightful Nahua women from the state of Puebla). This is a new painting of a noble Purepecha woman from pre-conquest Michoacan. I get lots of requests to make paintings from nations other than the Nahua, and the Purepecha are by far the nation about whom I get the most requests.
