I don’t want a bunch of holes drilled into the siding around the door, so we created this simple frame with pvc pipe. -first I connected the two garlands together, then measured around the door. -I used 1 inch pvc pipe, and couplers to hold them together. The stands at the bottom here are 12 inches each (2 for each side) I used a three way coupler to connect the stand. -Next I zip-tied the garland to the pvc frame. All along the top, and along the sides down to the bottom. You can also use wire. I like zip-ties better! My garlands are plug ins, but there is a battery option available as well!
